Please follow the below steps to correctly utilize the Silverlight Message Boxes in your project:

  1. Download the .DLL library file from Releases.
  2. Once saved on a local computer, right click on the .DLL file and select properties. Here click on Unblock option.
  3. Now at your Silverlight project, right click on references and select Add Reference
  4. Go to the Browse tab, and locate the downloaded and unblocked .DLL file.
  5. Once the library file was successfully referenced in the project, put using SilverlightMessageBoxLibrary; statement on top of each class where the message boxes will be used.

Hey thanks for working on this. I was wondering if you considered a parameter to specify the width and height of the message box? Have it as a optional parameter al bit. Thanks again.

Hi,
I am trying to utilise the optional parameter inputOptions when initialising the messagebox, but no luck. I wish to increase the default height/width of the messagebox. kindly suggest how I can achieve that.

Many thanks
Navin

For VB:

Dim inputMessage As New SilverlightMessageBoxLibrary.CustomMessage("Please reconfirm your password.", SilverlightMessageBoxLibrary.CustomMessage.MessageType.TextInput)

Private Sub cmdUpdatePassword_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs)
AddHandler inputMessage.OKButton.Click, AddressOf SilverlightMessageBoxLibrary_OKClick
inputMessage.Show()

End Sub

Private Sub SilverlightMessageBoxLibrary_OKClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
MessageBox.Show(inputMessage.Input)
End Sub

I see two solutions to the problem.

1) Make sure that you have unlocked the dll that you downloaded. This is step two of the instructions on this page.

2) Make sure that System.Windows.Controls have been correctly loaded as a reference. Right click on references and hit on Add Reference - here, assure that the reference exists and if not, add it to the list.

Hope this helps.

The version of Silverlight installed is:
Silverlight 4 (4.0.60129.0).
You are ready to use Microsoft Silverlight

HI! I´m trying to use the dll in a visual studio 2010 web project. When I press a button so a info messagebox should appear, there´s an erro saying "Can´t load file or assembles 'System.Windows.Controls, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of it dependencies. The system did not find the specified file. ". (well I´ve translate the message from spanish :)
The code behind I wrote is the following:
Protected Sub msgb01_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles msgb01.Click
SilverlightMessageBoxLibrary.Message.InfoMessage("Hello! I am here to help you!")
End Sub
